What is Thai massage?

Thai massage (nuad Thai) is a traditional healing massage from Thailand. The therapist uses palms, thumbs, elbows, knees and sometimes feet to press along the body’s energy lines (sen). They combine this with assisted, yoga-like stretches that open up the hips, back and shoulders. Traditional Thai is done in loose clothing without oil. It is both relaxing and energising, and many people describe it as “lazy yoga”.

Thai oil massage

Aromatherapy Thai massage works Thai pressure points with essential oils. Thai hot oil massage uses warm oil and long, flowing strokes. Choose coconut, lavender, lemongrass, peppermint or another oil at no extra cost.

Gentle and relaxing

Relax Thai Therapy is slower and softer, perfect if you are new to massage or simply want to switch off.

Thai specials

The Thai herbal compress uses steamed bundles of herbs on stiff joints and muscles. The Thai body scrub exfoliates and leaves the skin soft. Both are £135. For the full experience for two, there is couples massage (£135 for two).

Frequently asked questions

Is Thai massage painful?

It shouldn’t be. Thai massage can be firm, but your therapist will adjust the pressure to suit you. Just say if you want it lighter or stronger.

Do I keep my clothes on?

For traditional Thai, yes. We provide loose, comfortable clothing. For oil treatments you undress to your comfort level and stay covered with a towel.

What is the difference between Thai and Swedish massage?

Swedish massage uses long gliding oil strokes. Thai uses pressure points and assisted stretches, usually clothed. We offer both: see Swedish massage.
