Thai Body Scrub: a closer look

What is a Thai body scrub?

A Thai body scrub is a full-body exfoliation treatment. A natural scrub is massaged over the skin section by section to lift away dry, dull skin, you rinse off, and the session finishes with a moisturising oil massage. It is a 90-minute treatment, so there is time for the scrub to be thorough and for the massage at the end to be properly relaxing rather than rushed.

Step by step

  1. A short chat about your skin, any allergies and any sensitive areas.
  2. You undress to your comfort level and are covered with towels throughout.
  3. The scrub is applied with circular movements, one area at a time.
  4. You rinse off privately in the en-suite shower in the treatment room.
  5. A moisturising oil massage finishes the treatment. You can choose an oil from our oil menu at no extra cost.

Body scrub and massage: why combine them?

The scrub prepares the skin, and the massage afterwards helps the oil absorb into freshly exfoliated skin. You get two treatments in one visit: a pampering skin treatment and a relaxing massage. If you want a firmer massage, tell your therapist at the start.

Who it suits

  • Dry, dull or rough skin, especially in winter.
  • Before a holiday, wedding or special event.
  • Anyone looking for a spa-style treat. See our Thai spa treatments page.
  • A gift: a gift voucher can be for a specific treatment such as the body scrub.

When to avoid it

  • On the day you shave or wax.
  • With sunburn, broken skin, rashes, open wounds or an infectious skin condition.
  • If you are pregnant: we do not offer pregnancy massage.

Tell us about allergies to oils or ingredients before your treatment.
