Traditional Thai Massage

Traditional Thai massage is a dry, fully clothed treatment that combines acupressure along the body’s energy lines (sen) with assisted, yoga-like stretches. It loosens stiff joints, eases muscle tension and leaves you feeling lighter and more mobile.

What to expect

Palms, thumbs, elbows and assisted stretches along the body’s energy lines, done fully clothed.

  1. You change into loose, comfortable clothes (we can provide them).
  2. Your therapist works with palms, thumbs, elbows, knees and feet, from your feet up to your head.
  3. Gentle assisted stretches open the hips, back and shoulders.
  4. Pressure is adjusted to you throughout. Just say if you want more or less.

Add Ashiatsu: walking on the back (Ashiatsu) can be added to any massage on request, and it is very popular. Just ask when you book or arrive. What is Ashiatsu?

All treatments take place in a private room at our salon on London Road, Woolmer Green. We have our own car park behind the shop with room for 6 cars, plus free parking in the adjacent roads.

Questions about traditional thai massage

Do I keep my clothes on for Thai massage?

Yes. Traditional Thai massage is done fully clothed in loose clothing, and no oil is used.

Is Thai massage painful?

It can feel firm, especially on tight areas, but it should never hurt. Your therapist will adjust the pressure whenever you ask.

Should I book 60 or 90 minutes?

60 minutes covers the whole body. 90 minutes allows more stretching and extra time on problem areas such as the back and shoulders.

Can I add Ashiatsu (walking on the back)?

Yes. Ashiatsu, where the therapist uses their feet to massage your back, can be added to any massage on request and is very popular. Just ask when you book or when you arrive.
