Do You Take Everything Off for a Full Body Massage?

By May Thai Therapy · Woolmer Green, Knebworth · Updated 14 October 2026

No. For a full body oil massage you undress only to your comfort level. Most people keep their underwear on, and you stay covered with towels the whole time, with only the area being worked on uncovered. For Traditional Thai massage, you stay fully clothed.

First massage: step by step

  1. Arrive five minutes early. Avoid a heavy meal or alcohol beforehand.
  2. Tell your therapist about injuries and health conditions.
  3. Your therapist explains what to remove and leaves while you get ready.
  4. Lie under the towel. Say if you want more or less pressure at any time.
  5. Take a moment afterwards before you head off.

Best first massages

Relax Thai Therapy and Aromatherapy Thai are gentle starting points. Prefer to stay clothed? Choose Traditional Thai.
