MAY THAI THERAPY — TERMS & CONDITIONS

1. About Us May Thai Therapy (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a Thai massage business located in Woolmer Green, Knebworth. By booking a treatment with us, you (“the client”) agree to these Terms & Conditions.
2. Bookings Appointments can be made online at maythaitherapy.co.uk/booking, by phone on 07360 276999, or in person. We require your full name and contact details to confirm a booking. Walk-ins are accepted subject to availability, but we recommend booking in advance.
3. Cancellation Policy We understand that life happens — you might wake up feeling unwell, or your plans might change at short notice. That’s why our cancellation window is just 8 hours before your appointment, which is shorter (and fairer to you) than the 24-hour notice most therapists require.
- Cancellations or rescheduling made with 8 or more hours’ notice are free of charge.
- Cancellations made with less than 8 hours’ notice will be charged at 100% of the treatment cost.
- No-shows will be charged at 100% of the treatment cost.
- To cancel, please call us on 07360 276999 or come in person. Messages sent by email, chat, or social media may not be seen in time — please call to be safe.
- For couples or 4 Hands bookings, the full charge applies to the entire booking if cancelled late, even if only one party can no longer attend.
4. Late Arrivals Please arrive 5–10 minutes before your appointment time. If you arrive late, your treatment time will be reduced accordingly so that subsequent clients are not delayed, and the full price will still apply. If you arrive more than 15 minutes late, we reserve the right to treat your appointment as a no-show and apply the full charge.
5. Payment We accept cash, debit, and credit cards. A cash discount is available on all treatments — please ask for details. Payment is due at the time of treatment unless otherwise agreed.
6. Gift Vouchers
- Vouchers are valid for 4 months from the date of purchase.
- Vouchers are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash.
- Vouchers must be presented at the time of treatment.
- Lost or stolen vouchers cannot be replaced.
- Vouchers cannot be used in conjunction with other promotional offers.
- The same cancellation policy applies to bookings made using a gift voucher — a late cancellation or no-show will result in the voucher being marked as used.
7. Health & Medical Disclosure You are responsible for informing us of any medical conditions, injuries, allergies, or medications before your treatment begins. This includes (but is not limited to) skin conditions, recent surgery, heart conditions, high or low blood pressure, diabetes, or any allergies to oils or fragrances.
If you are unsure whether massage is suitable for you, please consult your GP before booking. We reserve the right to refuse or modify a treatment if we believe it is not in your best interest.
8. Pregnancy We do not offer pregnancy massage. If you are pregnant, please do not book any of our treatments. We recommend seeking a specialist prenatal massage therapist who is qualified to provide treatment during pregnancy.
9. Conditions We May Not Be Able to Treat For your safety, we may decline or modify treatment for clients with:
- Recent surgery (within 6 weeks)
- Infectious or contagious skin conditions
- Open wounds or recent injuries
- Certain cardiovascular conditions
- Active fever or illness
- Being under the influence of alcohol or recreational drugs

10. Code of Conduct Our therapists are trained professionals and we provide therapeutic massage only. Inappropriate behaviour, suggestive language, or requests for non-therapeutic services will result in:
- Immediate termination of the session
- Full payment being charged
- The client being permanently barred from all May Thai Therapy premises
- Where appropriate, the police being informed
We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone at our discretion.
11. Age Policy We treat adults aged 18 and over only. We do not provide treatments to anyone under the age of 18 under any circumstances. Proof of age may be requested. Children are not permitted in the treatment area and may not wait unsupervised in reception.
12. Personal Belongings We accept no responsibility for personal items lost, damaged, or stolen on the premises. We recommend leaving valuables at home or keeping them with you.
13. Right to Refuse Service We reserve the right to refuse service to any client at our discretion, including (but not limited to) clients who:
- Are under the influence of alcohol or drugs
- Have a contagious condition
- Have previously behaved inappropriately
- Have outstanding unpaid charges
- Pose any risk to staff or other clients
14. Tipping Tips are not expected but are always appreciated by our therapists. They are entirely at your discretion.
15. Privacy & Data Protection We collect your personal information only for the purpose of providing our services and managing your bookings. Your data is handled in accordance with UK GDPR. We will not share your information with third parties without your consent except where required by law. Our full privacy policy is available on our website.
16. Liability While we take every care to provide safe and effective treatments, massage carries some inherent risks. We cannot accept liability for any adverse reactions arising from treatments where relevant medical conditions, allergies, or contraindications were not disclosed to us.
17. Photography & Filming For the privacy of our staff and clients, photography and filming are not permitted on the premises without prior written consent.
18. Changes to These Terms We reserve the right to update these Terms & Conditions at any time. The latest version will always be available on our website, and the version in effect at the time of your booking will apply.
